Goods vehicle and public service vehicle operator licence holders are under obligation to maintain high standards of compliance with regard to all aspects of road transport regulation.
Should a VOSA investigation or routine visit result in the reporting of less than the required standards, be it drivers’ hours or maintenance, the licence holder could be called to Public Inquiry before the Traffic Commissioner to answer to the reported shortcomings.
The potential consequence of the Public Inquiry could be licence suspension, curtailment or, worst case scenario, revocation. We at D.O.C.S Ltd have many years of experience in the Public Inquiry forum and we offer a service of representation at the Public Inquiry as an alternative to formal legal representation. We will help to prepare and present your case to the Traffic Commissioner and we will also assist in putting into place the appropriate systems of control to maintain the required regulatory standards.
